Windows Security Updates September 2008

Microsoft has released four Microsoft Security Bulletins for September 2008. All updates are rated critical and it is recommended to update the computer system running Windows operating systems or Microsoft software as soon as possible. The updates are available for pretty much every Windows operating system from Windows XP to Windows Server 2008.

According to the security bulletin posted by Microsoft, the first critical updates dealt with vulnerability in the Windows Media Player program that could be enabled for remote code execution.

The second one fixed vulnerabilities in GDI+ that could allow for remote code execution. The third update took care of vulnerability in Windows Media Encoder 9 that could allow for remote code execution and the fourth one handled vulnerability in Microsoft Office that could allow for remote code execution.

Along with those, the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool was also updated and a few other small changes were made as well. Again, if you haven't gotten the most recent Windows Updates yet, I urge you to install them ASAP. Stay safe!
